Premium credit cards such as the Chase Sapphire Reserve and American Express Platinum come with an impressive collection of benefits. The problem is that few cardholders use all of them. Although I got plenty of benefits from my Chase Sapphire card this year, I had no need for their $500 credit on Southwest that I recently got, a $250 credit for the Chase stores, a StubHub credit, and a Pelaton subscription.
Rather than let them expire I checked with friends and family and offered them the unused benefits. I booked flights for my son on Southwest, offered my daughter the store $250 credit she used on an iPad, and give a friend the StubHub credit.
While many offered to split the savings or pay me in full, I was happy to give them away so they wouldn’t go unused. In checking the regulations for Chase and Amex, there is no prohibition in sharing your benefits, but they probably would frown on selling points or providing others lounge access.
