Apple’s big phone event is Tuesday, September 9, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. They named the event “Awe Dropping,” whatever that means. It’s now the seventeenth year when Apple makes a big effort to convince us their new phones are better than ever and try to entice us to upgrade two weeks later when they go on sale.
It’s becoming a much tougher job because improvements have become more incremental. The one exception is AI where Apple has fallen way behind, especially compared to the new Google Pixel 10 phones just announced. The Verge has a particularly good review of some of the AI magic the Pixel phones can do. Everyone will be anxiously awaiting to see what Apple has to say about their AI progress.
